Posted House Rules

1. Quiet hours are from 9:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., during which time the noise from the Tranquil Palms rental unit shall not disturb adjacent neighbors or Guests.

2. Amplified sound (TV, music etc) audible outside the Tranquil Palms rental unit is prohibited.

3. Vehicles shall park in the designated parking areas and shall not be parked on the street. When locking your vehicle, please avoid sounding the horn. (Single press on the Lock Button.)

4. There is No Smoking of any kind allowed indoors or outdoors within 50 feet of any building. Host will inform Guest of acceptable outdoor smoking locations on the grounds. Properly dispose of any smoking waste (i.e. cigarette butts) in an outside trash bin. Do NOT discard on the ground or in the bushes, vegetation, etc. Guests are responsible for the cost of removing any lingering smoke odor inside the rental unit, regardless of how or where the smoking was done. Guests agree to pay such costs or that they may be deducted from Guests’ security deposit refund.

5. Illegal drug use is prohibited anywhere on the property. Violation may result in immediate eviction of the entire Guest Party.

6. When leaving for the day, please:

a. Turn off A/C and electric items.

b. Close window sliders or leave open around 2-inches, with the blind vanes pulled back so the wind does not blow the vanes around. (Blind vanes can detach in our lovely tropical breezes.)

c. Interior doors can remain open on their latches, but please lock the security screens or sliders.

d. Owners are not responsible for Guest belongings.

7. As is standard practice with vacation rentals and to maximize your privacy, housekeeping services are not provided during your stay. Prior to entering the home: kindly remove your shoes, shake beach sand out of all clothing, and store all items that have been to the beach outside. The garden hose is handy for rinsing.

8. Important: Put ONLY water down the sink drains and only “normal” waste and toilet paper down the toilets, please! We are on septic/cesspool and therefore no waste materials – including sanitary products - may be disposed-of down the drains or toilets.

9. Tranquil Palms premises (rental units and grounds) are for registered guests only.

a. No parties, events, or group gatherings of any kind are allowed.
b. Guest day-visitors allowed only with Host prior notification and approval.

10. Please be kind and gentle with our lovely Maui by using the Air Conditioning responsibly:
a. Set temperature no lower than 72 F.
As with any A/C unit, setting a temp lower than 72 will NOT get the room cooler quicker.
b. Lower set temps will be reset to 72. A/C may beep when this occurs.
c. Close bedroom door and windows when A/C is on.
d. Do NOT leave bedroom doors open to cool the living space. A/C units are not sized for that.
e. Turn A/C OFF when leaving for the day or not using the bedrooms.
f. At night, consider opening the bedroom windows and setting a fan on the window sill to bring in the heavenly cool tropical night air.
g. Your cooperation allows us to avoid having an A/C surcharge.
